Ricoh joins BITC’s inclusive recruitment campaign

Ricoh UK, London, 22 February 2022 - Ricoh UK has signed up to ‘Opening Doors’ campaign launched by Business in the Community (BITC), the largest and longest established business-led membership organisation dedicated to responsible business. BITC’s latest initiative aims to create a movement of businesses committed to becoming more inclusive recruiters, opening doors to those who face barriers to work, and tapping into more diverse talent pools.

By taking part in ‘Opening Doors’, Ricoh has pledged to take action on the following asks identified by BITC in consultation with businesses and charities representing the needs of a wide spectrum of diverse and disadvantaged groups:

  1. Create partnerships that connect people from disadvantaged groups to our jobs
  2. Inclusion commitment
  3. Prioritise accessibility and eliminate bias

These priority actions already form a part of Ricoh’s diversity and inclusion strategy for the next two years, and the company commits to sharing its story with other businesses, enabling others to learn from our approach, and increasing the impact of the campaign.

Ricoh boasts a longstanding partnership with BITC and closely works with The Prince’s Trust to support underprivileged groups. Ricoh has also signed up to the Ban the Box campaign, Living Wage Foundation, Social Mobility Pledge, Disability Confident Committed, Mental Health at Work Commitment, and the Armed Forces Covenant, all of which have specific pledge actions that form part of Ricoh’s diversity and inclusion strategy. Moreover Ricoh committed to BITC’s Race at Work Charter, seven calls to action for organisations committed to improving equality of opportunity in the workplace.

Rebekah Wallis, Director – People & Corporate Responsibility at Ricoh UK said: ‘We are delighted to participate in BITC’s Opening Doors recruitment campaign. Our goal at Ricoh is to create a vibrant company culture that embraces difference and empowers our people. Taking part in this campaign will allow us to continue championing our core values whilst building on our existing D&I strategies.’
