ThreeFiveFour goes from strength to strength as they reinvest in Ricoh technology

Ricoh’s latest printing technology is set to support ThreeFiveFour as they gear up for increased demand

Ricoh UK, London, 5 May 2021: Creative print and direct mail specialist, ThreeFiveFour, have chosen to continue a four-year partnership with print and IT service specialists, Ricoh UK, as the company looks to gear up for increased demand as England’s lockdown is lifted.
The business has gone from strength to strength since brothers Ian and Adam Drew took control, increasing the annual turnover from two million to six million in seven years, by developing a new structure and inhouse accounts team.
The brothers had a clear vision for the business, and throughout the pandemic were able to adapt its service for its clients to power through a challenging 12 months for many businesses. ThreeFiveFour pivoted its approach to win new clients that were suddenly in a position to increase their print materials, such as the NHS. This approach enabled the team to maintain sales throughout the pandemic, and develop robust return plans for clients who put work on hold.
Looking towards the future and the evolving world of the print industry, ThreeFiveFour decided to grow its direct to mail marketing and needed more capacity. In order to achieve this, the team assessed the market and decided to continue their partnership with Ricoh, investing in Ricoh’s latest print technology, the Ricoh Pro™ 8320 and Pro C9210. The new machines will allow ThreeFiveFour to increase up-time performance and help the company to get ahead as they anticipate a boom in orders when lockdown eases.
Ian Drew, Director at ThreeFiveFour, said: “Our relationship with Ricoh has been a success since day one, so we’re pleased to continue our partnership with the team. In the world of direct mail, speed and timing are everything, so our clients need us to move swiftly to ensure they remain competitive.
“Ricoh’s innovations continually enable us to meet client needs and demands, surpassing what we originally thought we were capable of producing and helping the business go from strength to strength. Our orders can be large, and as we do everything in-house, it’s crucial that we can rely on Ricoh’s engineers, their machines and the high quality of service we get from both. In fact, we have found that we’ve been able to surpass previous Ricoh Spec of 400gram oven printing 500gram without missing a sheet. Ultimately, it’s the consistent quality we get from Ricoh that encourages us to continue to invest in their products.”
Ricoh has been ThreeFiveFour’s preferred partner for several years, having originally invested in the Ricoh Pro™ C9110. This printer can be tailored to meet all production needs with a modular concept, a variety of additional inline feeds and finishing options available to meet workflow demands. This was later replaced with a newer Ricoh Pro ™C9120, with a long sheet that can duplex, suited to ThreeFiveFour’s needs as its customer base and offering grew.
Simon Isaacs, National Sales Director at Ricoh UK, said: “It’s always fantastic when our existing customers choose to reinvest in Ricoh products over other brands. The new Ricoh technology will allow ThreeFiveFour to keep up with their current client demand and the expected increase when lockdown ends. The new machine will offer them greater efficiency while maintaining the high quality and standard their customers expect.”
