Ricoh joined the UN Global Compact in 2002, as one of the first Japanese companies to do so and has been serving as one of the directors on the Global Compact Japan Network since 2008.

Science Based Targets (SBT) is a joint initiative by WWF, CDP, WRI, and the United Nations Global Compact to help companies set ambitious science-based emission reduction targets to keep global warming below 2ºC (Paris Agreement target). Ricoh’s GHG reduction goals obtained SBT approval in March 2020.

Ricoh is a member of CDP, a not-for-profit organization that encourages companies, cities, states and regions to reduce greenhouse gases and manage their environmental impacts. In 2019, Ricoh scored A- in the CDP Climate Change Score report.

In 2017, Ricoh was the first Japanese company to join RE100 – a collaborative, global initiative led by the Climate Group in partnership with CDP, made up of influential businesses committed to 100% renewable electricity.

Ricoh joined the B4IG coalition in August 2019. B4IG is a global CEO-led coalition of 40 companies fighting against inequalities of income and opportunities. Powered by the OECD as its Strategic Partner, B4IG coordinates with governments to advance inclusive growth at both local and global levels.

Ricoh joined the Responsible Business Alliance (RBA) in October 2019. RBA is the world’s largest industry coalition dedicated to corporate social responsibility in global supply chains. RBA is a non-profit comprised of electronics, retail, auto and toy companies committed to supporting the rights and well-being of workers and communities worldwide affected by the global supply chain.

Ricoh joined We Mean Business in October 2021. We Mean Business is a global non-profit coalition working with the world’s most influential businesses to take action on climate change. Their goal is to catalyse business and policy action to halve emissions by 2030 and accelerate an inclusive transition to a global net-zero economy by 2050.
