|  | | In 2001, we achieved our goal of Zero-Waste-to-Landfill at all our major production sites. No waste is sent to landfill, due to our 100% resource recovery rate. To achieve this globally, the entire Group has: - Maximized resource productivity
- Primarily limited the production of waste
- Reduced water consumption
- Reduced paper consumption
These activities are now promoted at non-production sites and sales subsidiaries worldwide. In addition, an audit system for waste disposal service providers was introduced in Japan, aiming to upgrade and expand the processes in place. By efficiently using resources, improving production efficiency and employee knowledge, and reducing waste disposal costs we have begun to shift these benefits to the customer. Products with less impact, lower costs and higher quality are a prime example of our strategy in action. |
