Ricoh UK achieves 5 star Recognised for Excellence

In December 2006 Ricoh UK achieved 5 star Recognised for Excellence scoring between 500 and 550 points, some 15 months ahead of target.
We had been using assessment against the Excellence model since 2000; achieving 359 points in our late 2004 self assessment. After benchmarking with the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) members we set ourselves the target of growing our score by 50 points each year. |

Over the years we have prioritised key areas for improvement:
- Improved communication through the annual employee engagement survey and a clear definition of strategic objectives and visibility of leaders through the “Share with Us" programme.
- Soft skills and systems training for staff offered by our Learning and Development Team alongside extensive technical skills training.
- Listening to customers and partners especially the dealer channel and restructuring to better support the move to a total solutions approach
- Responsibility for the environment through environmental initiatives and corporate social responsibility.

Ricoh UK has now been officially awarded ISO27001 certification.
IS027001 relates to the information security management systems that business have in place and how secure they are. This does not just include the IT infrastructure but also the people working for the companies, the company assets and also the information that the company stores.
This certification is part of a global programme that has been put in place by Ricoh Japan and Ricoh UK is the 3rd company in the Ricoh Group to achieve this status. |
