History

Ricoh UK Ltd was established in London in 1980. It markets copiers, printers, scanners, facsimile and office equipment through a network of dealers and distributors. A brief history of Ricoh UK Limited:

1980

1980:		Ricoh UK Ltd was established in London
1984:		Saw the opening of sales offices in Wilmslow in Cheshire and Craven House in Ealing
1987:		Ricoh opens its award -winning manufacturing plant in Telford, Shropshire | The plant is still operating today and has scooped many awards including the "Queens Award for Environmental Achievement"
1988:		Ricoh becomes the first manufacture to introduce Multi-functional products | MFP's reducing the need for multiple devices
1988:		Ricoh UK Ltd moved to new prestige headquarters in Feltham, Middlesex incorporating all sites under one roof.
1988:		Ricoh UK Ltd opened its showroom at the new headquarters in Feltham.

1990

1990:		Ricoh celebrated 10 years in UK
1992:		Ricoh sponsor the Olympic games held in Barcelona
1993:		The Ricoh Group achieves total elimination of ozone-depleting substances (specific chlorofluorocarbons 'CFC's)
1993:		Ricoh announced development of Microsoft at Work Facsimile
1994		Ricoh launched first product in range of digital Multifunctional Equipment
1995:		Ricoh incorporates its 'Comet Circle' cradle-to-cradle approach to product recycling | centres on the belief that all product parts should be designed and manufactured in a way that they can be either recycled or re-used
1995:		Ricoh UK launched World’s fastest colour copier, the NC811. New showroom opens in April at Telford
1996:		Ricoh Launched a range of Aficio products, digital black and white, or colour copiers, on to which other functions, such as facsimile and printing modules can be added.
1997:		Ricoh UK Ltd advertised on TV for the first time
1999:		Launch of Aficio mono and colour laser Printers

2000:		Ricoh celebrated 20 years in UK
2001:		Ricoh UK Ltd opened new paperless office in City of London
2001:		Ricoh receives the 'Climate is Business' Award from the European Business Council (Global Warming Prevention)
2003:		Ricoh receives the 'World Environment Centre Gold Medal' for International Corporate Achievement
2004:		Ricoh becomes market leader in digital office colour
2004:		Ricoh opens UK 'Green Centre' a 43,000 square foot facility in Wellingborough
2005:		Industry first to launch a multi-functional digital copier made from 50% plant-based materials
2008:		Ricoh wins two Ruban d'Honneur prizes in the 'Environmental Awareness'
2009:		HRH the Princess Royal presents Ricoh the 'UK Excellence Award' and the "Gold Medal" for Excellence
2013:		Global 100 Most Sustainable; 9 years running
