Ricoh Number 1 in Production Colour Cut Sheet
Western European Market Data Specialist InfoSource puts Ricoh in the top spot
London, 04 June, 2012 – Ricoh Europe PLC has reached the top spot in ‘production colour press cut sheet printer placements’ in Western Europe, according to the latest results released by market data specialist InfoSource. The firm’s Western European survey for the first quarter of 2012 recorded Ricoh’s share of the production devices/colour press cut sheet industry, by manufacturer at 42.5%, a significant increase over the previous year’s 27.7% market share.
Graham Moore, Director of Business Development for Production Printing, Ricoh Europe says, “We attribute this continued success in Western Europe to the broad capabilities of our extremely responsive, high quality solutions, including the Ricoh Pro™ C901 Graphic Arts Edition digital production press and the Ricoh Pro™ C751 series, comprising the Pro C651 and Pro C751 models. The innovation and productivity embodied in these presses enabled us to reach this coveted recognition in a very competitive market. Our clients also recognise that investment in Ricoh technology is accompanied by long term support and guidance through a wide range of additional services, knowledge and expertise, including the Ricoh Business Driver Programme™. The quality of our products, combined with the breadth of our services and the depth of our post-sale support, positions Ricoh as a true business partner to print service providers of all sizes throughout Western Europe.”
Ricoh's approach to long term partnerships, services and business values were cited as just some of the reasons for printing companies placing new orders with Ricoh at drupa 2012. Polish graphic arts specialist Multikop signed a deal for a Pro C651EX digital colour press to enable it to move in to high quality production printing. We wanted to increase our capabilities to offer high quality, fast turnaround, short run colour print,” said Jerzy Misztal, Sales Director. “We also wanted to expand our customer base while adding new services for our current customers.”
Corsham Print in the UK chose a Ricoh Pro C751 to improve its offset and digital workflow and boost production capacity. Company founder and Managing Director Chris Perry said, “The print quality was high but more important was that it delivered the most consistent quality. We were also impressed with the register side-lay function and the back-up and support that we are going to get from Ricoh.”
Moore concludes that “After a successful drupa for Ricoh, these market share figures are evidence that Ricoh is taking a leadership position in the dynamic European production printing industry.”
In addition to this latest industry recognition, Ricoh’s Pro C901 Graphic Arts Edition production press was recently named as the fastest in its class by InfoTrends’ Western Europe Production Printing and Copying Market Placements: 2008-2011. It was also the leading press in the 301K to 999K duty cycle with more than a 31% market share in Western Europe in 2011.
