Ricoh announces Double Sponsorship in British Tennis

London, June 12, 2012 – Ricoh UK, has announced that it will be sponsoring Britain’s Oliver Golding, who plays in the AEGON Championships at The Queen’s Club today, for three years until 2015, and has also become the official document services partner to the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) for 2012.

Golding, who is 18 years of age, is currently the world’s number 482 and looks set to build on a fantastic 2011 season which was highlighted by victory at the US Open boy’s singles championships. He has been awarded a wildcard for the second year in a row for this year’s AEGON Championships and will be playing fellow compatriot, Jamie Baker, who is ranked number 207, on the first day of play.

The partnership with the LTA will enable the governing body to more effectively manage the way important documents are processed for the duration of the British tennis tournament calendar, and across various AEGON GB Pro-Series events.

Both activities complement Ricoh’s sponsorship of the ATP World Tour - the governing body for the men’s professional tennis circuit and builds on Ricoh’s on-going investment and commitment to future talent and working in partnership to challenge convention and move boundaries forward.

Confirming the sponsorship announcements, Carolyn Scrivener, Head of marketing communications at Ricoh UK said: “Ricoh is a trusted player across many sporting events and the partnership with the LTA and sponsorship of one of Britain’s brightest young tennis prospects demonstrates Ricoh’s commitment to team work and promoting itself through sporting events, allowing us to raise the profile of our brand. We are proud to support Oli for the next three years and hope he builds on his already, terrific achievements in a historic sporting year for the UK in 2012.”

Speaking about the partnership, Oliver Golding, said: “To have Ricoh on-board as a sponsor for the next three years is vital support for my progression up the world tennis rankings and I know will help me go from strength to strength in my professional career. I hope to build on my success from last year and look forward to being associated with the Ricoh brand.”

Lawrence Robertson, LTA Head of Commercial added: "Ricoh have been great supporters of tennis globally now for many years through their association with the ATP. We're therefore delighted that they have chosen to add the LTA to their sponsorship portfolio. Added to that, we're also delighted to see them backing Oli Golding which will really help them cement their support of British Tennis over coming years"
