Aficio™SP 4310N – Ricoh launches a new highly productive, reliable and affordable black-and-white A4 desktop printer.

London, July 2011 – Ricoh UK today launched the Aficio™SP 4310N black-and-white desktop A4 printer. Designed for a low Total Cost of Ownership and low cost per print, the SP 4310N is an affordable, reliable printer for small offices and workgroups in larger companies.

This new black-and-white A4 desktop printer offers a print speed of 36 pages per minute after a warm-up time of less than 19 seconds. “The Aficio™SP 4310N offers high productivity at an affordable price, making it a great investment for a cost-conscious small office. Its low Total Cost of Ownership is due to an attractive purchase price, long life of consumables, and minimal energy consumption,” says Robert Brown Product Marketing Manager at Ricoh UK. “Moreover, its Typical Electricity Consumption is reduced by the innovative ECO Night Sensor, which automatically switches off the device’s main power when the light levels in the room dip below a certain level.”

The SP 4310N handles a variety of paper types. Stock of up to 130 g/m² is accepted, while the bypass tray can handle thick paper of up to 162 g/m² and even transparencies. A unique envelope mode guarantees that envelopes are printed swiftly and without wrinkles.

The SP 4310N’s optional Intelligent Printer Data Stream (IPDS) Enabler allows for the printing of transactional documents such as bank statements and invoices, removing the need to buy a dedicated IPDS printer. A further value-added feature is that it prints true Adobe® PostScript® 3™, rather than an emulation of the final offset printed result. This is vital in applications where it is essential to see precisely the specified font and layout.

To ensure security in shared offices, the HDD Overwrite option encrypts certain data so only authorised users may access the information. Enhanced Locked Print (optional) enables users to store, release and manage confidential documents with user ID and password authorisation, ensuring documents remain secure.

Operation of the device is easy due to its 10-digit keypad and intuitive 4-line LCD operation panel which clearly displays all functions. Maintenance is facilitated by e-mails that alert users when maintenance actions are required. Further user-friendly features include standard USB 2.0 connectivity, full front access, simple driver installation and an easily replaceable all-in-one toner.

As with all Ricoh products, emphasis is on reduction of environmental impact. For the Aficio™SP 4310N this is achieved through its Eco Night Sensor, a short warm-up time, low power consumption, fast duplex printing and increased toner yield. In energy saver mode the device consumes as little as 3.9 W. In addition, it is Energy Star compliant, meaning that less CO2 is produced in providing the energy needed to run it.
