Ricoh Company Limited was established in 1936 to specialise in the production of sensitized paper. At that time, it had a relatively small workforce and a single manufacturing plant.
Today, the Ricoh Group has 118 subsidiaries or affiliates world-wide, of which 89 are in Japan. There are over 50,000 employees, and 11 research institutes, as well as modern manufacturing plants across the globe in countries including the USA, France, China, Korea, Mexico and the United Kingdom.
To service a growing market, the Ricoh Group maintains a large international sales network.
In 1984, Ricoh UK Products Limited (RPL) was set up in Telford, Shropshire, birthplace of the Industrial Revolution. RPL was the first European production plant in the Ricoh Group. We are well situated to respond quickly to the UK and continental European markets.
